Project title: Survey of Member of Parliament Assistants in Azerbaijan

Commissioned by DAI Inc., USAID Parliamentary Program in Azerbaijan

Date: June-October 2009

Project objective: To provide technical support to DAI Inc. in conducting a baseline survey for the Parliamentary Program in Azerbaijan (USAID). CRRC helped DAI, Inc. with designing survey questionnaire, pre-field training for the interviewers, data entry and prepared report describing the findings of the survey.

Research design: Semi-structured survey of 85 Member of Parliament Assistants (MPA). The survey had over 60 questions covering different aspects of the MPAs' activities like work with constituents and media, outreach, accessibility of the constituent offices, policy research skills and experience. The results were used in the calculation of the Constituency Representation Index developed by DAI, Inc.

Output: Survey Report and Presentation slides for the Administration of the Parliament.
